I really struggled to get into this story! I desperately wanted to love it, but the first half felt too slow for me and I just couldn’t get invested 🫠

I also wasn’t the biggest fan of the romantic dynamic between the characters. From what I read, their attraction felt a little more physically driven than I personally prefer. I feel like there’s a difference between genuine romantic yearning and lust and I tend to enjoy the former much more!

Ultimately, I decided to give this one a soft DNF. It just wasn’t quite the right fit for me!

One thing I would recommend, though, is reading Sense and Suitability first! While this story is technically a standalone, there are familiar characters from that book and I think knowing their stories beforehand would make this one more enjoyable.
