MY REVIEW: If you’re looking for a heartwarming romance with lovable characters and plenty of sweet moments, this one is worth adding to your TBR

From the very beginning, I found myself completely invested in these characters. Their chemistry felt so natural, and I loved watching both of them grow individually and together throughout the story.

One of my favorite characters was Stella She brought so much humor and warmth to the book, and every scene she was in had me smiling. She was the kind of grandmother everyone wishes they had.

This was such a sweet, feel-good read filled with heart, growth, and a romance that was easy to root for. By the final page, I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to these characters

Tropes
Single Parent
Marriage of Convenience
Sports Romance
He Takes Care of Her
“My Husband”
Love After Loss

: Kisses Only
: None

BLURB: It’s strictly business—no feelings allowed.

Nola
I’ve mastered the art of playing it safe. As a single mom to my spirited ten-year-old daughter, I can’t afford risks—especially after being blacklisted from my corner of the art world and relegated to painting landscapes. Then, at my sister’s bachelorette party, I’m dared to make a bold move that throws my carefully controlled life a curveball. I kiss a stranger. It seems innocent enough until I run into him again at my daughter’s school and he proposes we get married.

Maxford
Baseball was my life until a scandal cost me my Major League contract. Now I’m starting over as a P.E. teacher in a new town, taking care of my eccentric grandma, and trying to rebuild my reputation one day at a time. When the same woman who kissed me at a bar shows up in my life again, I create an unexpected solution to our career problems—and a crazy proposal that could benefit us both.

A marriage of convenience promises to solve everything. I need respectability and credibility to be picked up by a team again, and she needs gallery connections to reclaim her place in the art world. But stolen glances turn into genuine laughter, and pretend touches spark very real desire. When we’re both offered everything we thought we wanted, we face the ultimate choice: our dreams, or each other?

MY REVIEW: If you love romances with witty banter, plenty of heart-fluttering moments, and just the right amount of suspense, this one deserves a spot on your TBR

This story hooked me from the very first chapter and never let go. The banter between the characters had me smiling the whole way through, and the romance was filled with so many moments that had me giggling and kicking my feet

The suspense kept the pages turning, and I found myself saying, “Just one more chapter,” long past my bedtime. Every twist made it harder to put down.
And can we talk about the romance? The protective hero, the “my wife” moments, and the way he quietly yearned for her absolutely stole my heart

This quickly became one of my favorite reads, and I already can’t wait to see what Jenessa writes next.

Tropes
Opposites Attract
Grumpy x Sunshine
Protective MMC
“My Wife”
Forced Proximity
He Yearns for Her
Only One Bed

: Descriptive Kisses Only
: None

BLURB: Thea

I’m fine. Really.
My latest breakup? Not a big deal.

Which is why I still took the trip—the one where I was supposed to get engaged. Alone. Totally normal.

Getting mugged in Mexico? Also not a big deal. Sure, I can’t remember where I’m staying, but I’ll figure it out. I always do.

At least there’s a broody, mysterious stranger who says he’ll help me.
Problem is… I’m not sure he’s on my side—especially when our faces start showing up on the news for a crime we didn’t commit.

He’s guarded. Dangerous. And definitely hiding something.

But whatever secrets he’s keeping—and whatever trouble keeps finding us—I don’t have a choice.

If I want to make it home alive…I have to trust him.

Pierce

I don’t fail missions. Ever.

So how did this one spiral so far out of control?

It was supposed to be easy. Get the drive and get out.

But my contact is gone. Enemies are closing in. And somehow, I’ve picked up a civilian who has no idea what she’s walked into.

Now Thea is my responsibility, and while getting her home safely should be simple, things only get worse around every turn.

She looks at me like I’m more than what I am. Like I’m someone worth trusting. Wanting.

I’m not.

I walked away from every relationship that mattered six years ago—and I’m not looking for another one.

But the longer this mission drags on, the harder it gets to remember why.

The mission has shifted. Get Thea home, before they catch us. But what if it’s not safe there either? How long will I have to protect her?
Runaway Rule is an light-hearted adventure romantic comedy full of mystery and chaos.

I absolutely loved it!
Make sure to check out the content warnings as they can be possibly triggering, but I feel like the author did a wonderful job handling some hard topics!
I love a grump who is a cinnamon roll for the girl he loves!
Content Warnings: mention of extramarital affairs, emotional neglect and manipulation by a parent to their adult children, and depiction a of panic attacks.

BLURB: Spring is a time for love and growth, whether you expected it or not.

Jesse Romano, an ex ER nurse, wasn’t interested in having useless small talk with the locals, participating in community events, or going to church like everyone else in town. He only wanted three things when he moved to the small town, Magnolia Meadows, Virginia: to open his own tea shop at the end of Spring, be near his family, and live a quiet life to help manage his anxiety. However, when he finds himself falling for Magnolia Meadows resident, Ms. Sunshine, he wonders if maybe everything he wanted to avoid is worth the involvement, after all.

Ophelia Bennett, Magnolia Meadows, Ms. Sunshine – as Jesse has coined her – has nothing to complain about. She owns and runs what she considers her second home: her grandmother’s flower shop. She lives with her best friend and grumpy cat, and she is surrounded by many friends and family. Life is great! Well…almost great. After her father’s affair came to light ten years ago, Ophelia has been living in fear. Fear of losing her relationship with her father. Also, fear of falling in love with someone who could change and walk away.

As Ophelia and Jesse grow closer to each other, they’re faced with learning how to address their own anxieties, while learning how to love each other for who they are and the people they can become.

MY REVIEW: This was a cute hockey romance. Both characters were fun to read about and they complimented each other so well! I loved seeing the growth in Nick’s character as he settled into a completely new town, team, and home the ending was sweet. All around a fun read but it was a little hard for me to really “get into.” Some of the same things were repeated multiple times which didn’t feel like they needed to be there.

Hockey Romcom
Grumpy/Sunshine
Opposites Attract
Dual POV
Miscommunication
Instant Chemistry

: Kisses Only
: None

OVERVIEW: A grumpy goalie and a sunshine-hearted girl collide, sparking a connection neither of them can ignore.

When Abby Carter’s best friend, Jaclyn, lands her dream job with the Carolina Bears organization, Abby is thrilled for her. The perks are incredible, and when Jaclyn invites Abby to a welcome event, Abby expects good food, easy conversation, and maybe a few autographs. What she didn’t expect is a collision with the team’s newly traded, grumpy goalie, Nick Ellis.
Fresh off a trade he never wanted, Nick is all scowls—the opposite of Abby’s cheerful, go-with-the-flow personality. Yet somehow, they keep running into each other around town, and with every unexpected encounter, the spark between them burns hotter.

Abby knows she should keep her distance. Nick’s walls are firmly in place due to the aftermath of a life he didn’t choose. But the more time they spend together, the more the man beneath the pads and tough exterior begins to shine through.
Abby might be the last person Nick ever expected to skate into his life… but she just might be the one who can melt his icy goalie heart.

OVERVIEW: Firefighters are supposed to be the ones putting out fires, not causing sparks.

I thought I stifled everything I felt for Connor Porter over a decade ago. But now he’s back home, and I’m hit with those old feelings again, stronger than a firehose to the face.

Feelings I most certainly should not be having for my best friend’s older brother.

I’m trying to push all thoughts of Connor aside and focus on opening a flower truck when his sister persuades him to help me get my business off the ground.

Now, I’m spending more time with my childhood crush than can be considered healthy. And it’s difficult to get him out of my mind when I’m constantly being distracted by his muscular arms and thinking about how they feel when they’re wrapped around me.

My attraction to him grows into a roaring inferno, but I don’t think Connor’s ever seen me as anything other than his little sister’s friend. I need to extinguish these feelings before I’m in too deep.

It’s like that old saying goes: if I keep playing with fire, I’m bound to get burned.

I’m Only Me When I’m With Him is a best friend’s brother, grumpy/sunshine romcom with sizzling chemistry but no explicit content. It’s the third book in the Sweeter Than Fiction series, following four best friends finding love.

OVERVIEW: She can totally survive a year on a Welsh sheep farm, even if her surly neighbor disagrees.

Robyn Lane is sunshine embodied. Or so her fans call her. She really has it all—freedom to explore the world around her, unfailing optimism, and millions of subscribers on YouTube. She also has a dream job that is about to become even dreamier.

Having fallen into the unpredictable world of crowdfunding, Robyn has found her calling in life by filming herself partaking in whatever her millions of fans wish her to do, whether that be skydiving, attempting to repair a 1933 Ford Roadster, or auditioning for every singing competition in America—all without being a singer.

And now? Well, now, she’s about to pack up all her belongings and live out an entire year on a dilapidated sheep farm in Snowdonia, Wales. Does she know one thing about sheep or farming? Not even a lick. But she’s not concerned. She’s thrilled. Everything is going to be amazing. It always is.

And yet, running the Welsh farm is nothing like she expects. She finds herself falling short in every way—including fitting in with her neighbor on the adjoining sheep farm: the surly and insanely attractive Cedric Davies. Apparently, the guy used to be some famous soccer—sorry, football—player for England, but after an injury, he chose to live out the remainder of his days on this rainy, windy land like some crazy recluse. A recluse who isn’t afraid to express his disapproval of her filming her life from sun-up to sun-down.

Robyn can handle anything life throws at her—even this frigid sheep farm. And yet, when Cedric’s wind-tossed hair and scruff-covered jawline become more appealing than anything else, including her job…she isn’t sure what she can handle anymore.

This is the third book in the clean and sweet romcom Men of the Isles series by Deborah M. Hathaway. Although this dual POV, grumpy/sunshine romance is a stand-alone novel, the books are best enjoyed when read in order as minor spoilers are given about previous characters.

OVERVIEW: Havoc
We’re at war and I don’t even know who the enemy is…
Being the president of the Children of Chaos Motorcycle Club means it’s my responsibility to find out before the drugs coming into our little town kill any more of our kids. I need to focus all my energy on winning a seemingly unbeatable battle, not on my new next-door neighbor, who doesn’t understand boundaries and has something to say about everything, like my teenage son, Creed, riding motorcycles and how often I should throw parties. It doesn’t help that Creed thinks she can do no wrong just because she keeps bringing over food and is pretty. Pretty women cause trouble…without fail. Every time I think I know who Greer is, she surprises me in the very best way.

Greer
A new start in a small town close enough to Urbium that I can visit my family, but far enough away that I don’t see my ex and his new wife, sounded like a great idea. Silent Valley is the opposite of quiet, with my biker neighbor throwing loud parties all the time. How long has it been since I’ve heard anyone laugh like him? He does it all the time with his son. Creed is a carbon copy of his father, without the grumpy attitude. It’s not like I’m looking for a date. The ink is barely dry on my divorce papers, and trusting a man is impossible right now.

Havoc’s Path is a no spice dark motorcycle club suspenseful romance, featuring steamy kisses with a decided lack of cursing and violence.

OVERVIEW: He’s the grump who broke my heart. Now he’s back… a billionaire sent to destroy my family legacy.

If I ever imagined laying eyes on Jack Wolfington again, I could never see him as the devastatingly handsome, grumpy billionaire businessman sent to bully me out of my one prized possession, the landmark diner I inherited from my aunt Rina.

He’s a completely different person from the boy with the artist’s soul who broke my heart fifteen years ago.

At least that’s what I keep telling myself. But being around him again feels as natural as my breath. And there’s no denying all the unspoken feelings drawing us together.

With matchmaking friends ensuring we’re constantly stuck together, I’m reminded of the love we were once so certain of. I can feel myself falling for him again.

But how can I trust him when the fact is, he came here to destroy me.

If he betrays me now, it will be the end of my family legacy and the final blow to my aching heart.

OVERVIEW: After years of auditioning, Avery Hinkley finally achieves her dream of becoming a Vista City Kings cheerleader. But the role comes with strict rules: maintain a full‑time job outside the team, never miss a practice, and absolutely no fraternizing with Kings football players. Seems simple enough… until her plant-care business flounders, putting Avery dangerously close to a breach of contract, not to mention possible homelessness. Then in waltzes the biggest breach of all—the grumpy Vista City Kings strong safety, Ty Brewster—with a forbidden offer of help that could sideline everything she’s worked for.

Ty Brewster’s invitation for Avery to be his roommate was easy, but living with her, even temporarily, may prove to be the difficult part. When she and her cat blow into his life like some unforeseen whirlwind, it takes all of Ty’s strength not to get swept up in every tiny quirk that is Avery Hinkley. Because the thing is, having Avery as a roommate defies the promise he made to both his team and himself: put his head down, follow the rules, and don’t give the Kings a reason to trade him as easily as his last team. As a Kings cheerleader living under his roof, Avery’s a walking contract violation. But just like this roommate situation, everything has a shelf life. Nothing lasts. And if anyone finds out about their arrangement, their careers won’t last either.

The Safety and the Secret is a dual POV, no spice romance. It’s the second book in The Vista City Kings series but can be read as a standalone.

Have you read this one yet? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
